Christmas Tree Disposal

CLIFTON PARK, NY— Clifton Park residents have a couple of different options for disposing of their un-bagged, non-artificial Christmas trees. The first option consists of placing the withering, needle shedders at the curb to be picked up by County Waste during the week of Monday, January 12. Just be sure that they are free of any stray lights or decorations- to ensure a smooth mulching process, are not iced with a layer of snow and that they are patiently waiting at the end of the driveway on the evening of Sunday, January 11.

However, if you prefer, you can bring your evergreen to the town’s Transfer Station on Vischer Ferry Road, where the trees will also be processed into organic mulch. This is free of charge and there is no permit required.

“The Town Board is pleased to provide these two Christmas tree disposal options free to residents and at no cost to taxpayers,” Town Supervisor Phil Barrett said. “County Waste has generously offered this service to our residents and the Clifton Park Transfer Station is also available for anyone who wishes to dispose of their Christmas trees.”
