CLIFTON PARK— Route 146, from North Country Commons to Tanner Road, was closed for about an hour and a half this morning because of an unfortunate chain of events.
At 8:50 a.m., a car driving along Route 146 in Clifton Park crossed over into the opposite lane, most likely due to post-snow road conditions, and was struck by another vehicle, which was then struck by another vehicle. Then two vehicles following behind ditched themselves in the roadside field to avoid becoming part of the main accident, according to Ken Graves, First Assistant Chief of the Jonesville Fire Department.
In total, five vehicles were affected: a mini van, an SUV and three passenger vehicles.
One child was transported to Albany Medical Center with a head injury, but Graves said he felt that it wouldn’t be fatal.
