SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Shenendehowa and Saratoga Springs hockey rivalry has developed into one of the best in any sport in Section II.

Wednesday night’s game — played at a face pace and full of scoring chances — did nothing to diminish that.

Zach Guzi and Cam McCall scored third-period goals less than two minutes apart, and the Blue Streaks held off six Plainsmen attackers in the final 90 seconds to skate away with a 4-3 win on their home Weibel Avenue Rink.

With their ninth win in 10 league games, the Blue Streaks not only avenged a loss in Clifton Park earlier this season, but also added a point to their lead over the second-place Plainsmen, now three points, atop the Capital Distict High School Hockey League standings.
