GLENS FALLS — Tip should come around 2:40 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center between Shenendehowa and Mount Vernon in the NYSPHSAA state championship tournament Class AA semifinals.

Shenendehowa boys basketball has not played in the state semifinals since 1987. The Plainsmen are 23-0 and advanced to the state semifinals with an overtime victory last weekend against Henninger.

Prior to topping Henninger, Shenendehowa won its first Section II title since 1996 with a 47-42 victory against Guilderland. The Plainsmen are ranked No. 7 in the state.

Mount Vernon is ranked No. 5 in the state and comes into today’s contest with a 19-3 record. The Knights have won 10 state championships, with six of those coming since 2000. Mount Vernon advanced to today’s game with a 76-57 triumph against Middletown. The Knights have not played in the state semifinals since 2012.

The winner between Shenendehowa and Mount Vernon will play Brentwood, which topped Aquinas, 63-56.

1:08 p.m.: First Class AA semifinal is at halftime, with Brentwood ahead of Aquinas, 31-26. Start time for the Shenendehowa game will likely be closer to 2:30 or 2:45 p.m.

1:18 p.m.: I’ll have some updates of Aquinas vs. Brentwood here in the second half, just score and time. Winner gets either Shenendehowa or Mount Vernon Sunday at 3:15 p.m.

1:25 p.m.: Brentwood up 40-34 with 4:25 left in the third quarter.

1:33 p.m.: Brentwood clinging to a 42-40 lead with 1:40 left in the third quarter.

1:37 p.m.: After three quarters, Aquinas trails Brentwood, 45-43.

1:42 p.m.: Brentwood lead at 49-45 with 6:00 left in the game.

1:51 p.m.: Brentwood stretches its lead to 53-45. Only 186 seconds left in regulation.

1:56 p.m.: Brentwood is up 10 points, 1:16 left.

2:02 p.m.: Brentwood advances with a 63-56 win.

2:13 p.m.: Mount Vernon and Shenendehowa are on the court for warmups. Should be about 16, 17 minutes from tip.

2:18 p.m.: Crowd still filing in here for the second of the two Class AA semifinal games. Shenendehowa, obviously, hoping to see a lot of green and white T-shirts in the crowd when this one starts.

2:25 p.m.: Here come the starting lineups. I’ll be back soon with the first game update.

6:06: Petar Bebic makes it 5-0 Shen with a pair of free throws.

5:30: Kevin Huerter finds Brandon Fischer for a two. Plainsmen up, 7-2.

3:24: Shen up 9-4.

2:30:  Kevin Huerter 3-pointer makes it Shen 12, Mount Vernon 7.

1:00: Traded baskets has it Shen 14, Mount Vernon 10. Kevin Huerter already has 8.

End of quarter: Kevin Huerter hits a 3-pointer, Shen leads 17-11.

SECOND QUARTER (updates with game time)

7:21: Failed exchanges start the quarter for both teams. Shen already with six team fouls.

6:35: Fischer basket has it at 19-13, Plainsmen.

6:14: Shen already has gone 8-deep as club tries to match up with physicality of Mount Vernon.

5:53: Timeout for Shenendehowa. Mount Vernon will shoot 1-and-1 out of the timeout with Shen up 19-13.

4:22: Shen up 23-17 after some Fischer free throws and a Thomas Huerter basket.

3:45: More free throws for Fischer. Shen up 25-17.

3:08: Now, a basket from Fischer, who has Plainsmen’s last six points. Shen up, 27-17.

2:38: Shen now going 9-deep with insertion of Mike Pizziketti. Plainsmen up, 27-20.

1:01: Mount Vernon calls for time after a made 3-pointer has its deficit at 27-23.

End of quarter: Shen leads it 27-23 at halftime.

THIRD QUARTER (updates with game time)

7:18: Two quick fouls on Shenendehowa, which has mounting foul trouble with Petar Bebic and Matt Alverson with three each. Plainsmen up six.

5:47: Timeout, Shenendehowa, after a 5-0 run for Mount Vernon. Plainsmen up, 29-28. No points for Kevin Huerter since late in the first quarter.

5:01: Traded baskets has it at 31-30, Shen.

4:50: Three-point play for Fischer comes right before free throws for Mount Vernon. Plainsmen up, 34-32.

3:58: We’re tied at 34.

3:17: Timeout for Plainsmen after Mount Vernon takes a 36-34 lead and a turnover.

2:35: Fischer free throw has Mount Vernon’s lead at 36-35.

2:22: Kevin Huerter makes a pair of free throws. Shen already in the bonus. Plainsmen up, 37-36.

1:16: Matt Alverson to the line, and he makes it 42-41, Mount Vernon, with a pair of makes.

End of quarter: Shenendehowa trails after three quarters, 45-43.

FOURTH QUARTER (updates with game time)

7:45: Three-pointer from Kevin Huerter. Shen up 46-45.

5:56: Drew Lewis goes to the foul line and makes two. Shen up 48-45.

5:41: Pull-up 3 from Kevin Huerter has it Shenendehowa 51, Mount Vernon 45.

4:56: Drew Lewis back to the line, and the Shenendehowa lead is at 52-46 after he makes 1 of 2.

4:22: Mount Vernon calls for timeout. Plainsmen still up six points.

3:31: Thomas Huerter out for Shenendehowa with five fouls. Mount Vernon trails by three.

2:30: Basket for Kevin Huerter has the Plainsmen up 54-50.

1:44: Mount Vernon turns it over, Plainsmen call for timeout still up four.
