Shenendehowa cross country squads compete at federation championships

WAPPINGERS FALLS — Both Shenendehowa cross country teams earned bids to the Nov. 21 federation championships in Bowdoin Park, with the girls’ team earning a seventh-place finish and the boys’ squad taking 17th.

For the Shenendehowa girls’ team, Julia Zachgo led the way with a 16th-place finish at 19:07.2, while Danielle Jordan (20th place, 19:14.7) and Kristina Watrobski (40th place, 20:00.1) also offered top-50 finishes.

From the Shenendehowa boys’ team, Mitchell Halpern was the lone Plainsmen to earn a top-50 finish, as the senior took 17:02.1 to finish in 45th place.

Rounding out the top-five finishers for the Shenendehowa girls were Charlotte Hartman (61st place, 20:21.8) and Caroline Hartman (87th place, 20:47.4). Doing the same for the Shenendehowa boys were Alex Matson (55th place, 17:13.5), Henry Christopher (70th place, 17:28.0), Liam Hickey (109th place, 17:52.3), and Alex Bianconni (121st place, 18:00.9).
