The highlights: Comeback brings Plainsmen a season-opening win.

Wednesday, March 30

Girls’ track and field: Shenendehowa 121, Averill Park 47

The highlights: The Plainsmen won 16 of the day’s 17 events, with Shenendehowa’s Kelly Hamlin (200-meter dash, long jump) and Olivia Robbins (100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles) each winning two solo events. All three Shenendehowa relays were victorious.

Thursday, March 31

Boys’ track and field: Shenendehowa 95, Averill Park 74

The highlights: In its opener, Shenendehowa surged to a victory behind a two-win performances from Nick Michalowski (110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles). In all, the Plainsmen won 10 of 17 events.

Friday, April 1

Girls’ lacrosse: Shaker 10, Shenendehowa 4

The highlights: The Plainsmen dropped to 1-1 on the season, with Kendra Harbinger scoring three goals against Shaker.

Thursday, April 7

Girls’ lacrosse: Shenendehowa 21, Schenectady 0

Boys’ lacrosse: Shenendehowa 19, Schenectady 2

The highlights: Matt Stucchi scored five goals in the boys’ lacrosse team’s season-opening win. … Emily DiNallo, Jordyn Marr and Meghan Prendergast each scored three goals in the girls’ lacrosse team’s victory. The girls’ win has the team 2-1 overall and 1-0 in Suburban Council play.

Friday, April 8

Baseball: Shenendehowa 18, Averill Park 0

Boys’ tennis: Shenendehowa 7, Averill Park 2

The highlights: Nik Malachowski picked up the win for the Plainsmen baseball team, pitching four scoreless innings in a game that went five. Shenendehowa scored 11 runs in the fourth inning, while Nick Jacques, Malachowski and Joe Palko all had three hits. Malachowski had four RBIs and Palko scored four runs. … Scoring singles wins for the Plainsmen were Jon Frutschy, Brendan Blackburn, Jeremy Czirr and Jacob Kluball. All three Shenendehowa doubles teams won, too.

Saturday, April 9

Baseball: North Rockland 3, Shenendehowa 1

Girls’ lacrosse: Watertown 11, Shenendehowa 4

Boys’ lacrosse: Medfield 18, Shenendehowa 9

The highlights: Ben Anderson took the loss for the baseball team, allowing three runs and seven hits across five innings in which he struck out four. At the plate, the Plainsmen received a 2-for-3 day from Nick Jacques while Frank Pizzo had the team’s lone RBI. … Jordyn Marr scored twice in the girls’ lacrosse team’s non-conference loss. … Against a Massachusetts powerhouse, the boys’ lacrosse squad received three goals from Owen Putman and 13 saves from Anthony Tebbano in defeat.

Monday, April 11

Baseball: Shenendehowa 3, Niskayuna 1

Softball: Shenendehowa 24, Niskayuna 1

Girls’ lacrosse: Shenendehowa 20, Albany 2

Boys’ lacrosse: Shenendehowa 16, Albany 4

The highlights: Nick Jacques went 1-for-3 with an RBI double while Kevin Huerter was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in the baseball team’s win. … In the softball team’s big win, Shenendehowa received home runs from Kelly Barkevich, Sadie Evans, Hannah Elmer and Olivia Murray. … Whitney Kchinka had three assists while Jordyn Marr and Emily DiNallo each had three goals in the girls’ lacrosse team’s victory. … Adam Barcori had four goals in the boys’ lacrosse team’s win, while Mike Lazzaro, Dakota Rainville, Matt Stucchi all had three scores. Stucchi also had two assists. Goalie Anthony Tebbano made fives saves and allowed two of the scores.

Boys’ tennis: Shenendehowa 5, Shaker 4

Boys’ track and field: Shenendehowa 94, Colonie 85

The highlights: In boys’ tennis, scoring solo wins were Ritwik Mishra, Jonathan Frutschy and Andy Bindelglass. Doubles victories came from the teams of Jared Dessingue & Stanley Liu and Jerry Qu & Jeong Yeon Cho. … Scoring multiple wins for the boys’ track and field squad were Nick Michalowski (100-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles) and Jacob Pishkula (long jump, triple jump).

Baseball: Shenenedehowa 5, Guilderland 4

Softball: Shenendehowa 9, Guilderland 3

Boys’ tennis: Guilderland 7, Shenendehowa 2

Girls’ track and field: Shenendehowa 129, Colonie 50

The highlights: Richard Drum had a two-RBI walk-off hit for the baseball team, capping a comeback from down 4-1 for the Plainsmen. Drum and Nik Malachowski each had two hits in the win, while Malachowski earned the win on the mound with three strikeouts across two scoreless innings to end the game. … After falling behind 3-0, the softball team scored the game’s last nine runs. In the win, Kelly Barkevich and Abby Shields each hit three-run home runs in the first inning. Kelly O’Gorman had three hits and a triple, while Ashley Sisto also had a triple. … Securing wins for the boys’ tennis team against the defending Section II Class AA champions were Stanley Liu at No. 6 singles and the No. 3 doubles team of Jeong Yeon Cho & Jerry QU. … Jill Shippee (shot put, discus throw) and Danielle Jordan (400-meter hurdles, 3,000-meter run) each won multiple events for the girls’ track and field team in its latest win.

Boys’ lacrosse: Shenendehowa 12, CBA 2

The highlights: The doubles team of Jeong Yeon Cho & Jerry QU was the only boys’ tennis entry to take a set from Niskayuna, falling 7-4, 4-6, 10-5. … Adam Barcori had four goals for the boys’ lacrosse team, which held CBA scoreless after the first period. Dakota Rainville had three goals, Owen Putman had two goals and two assists, and Anthony Tebbano made a career-high 21 saves.

Boys’ tennis: Bethlehem 9, Shenendehowa 0

The highlights: Nik Malachowski tossed a complete game for the baseball team, striking out eight while allowing an unearned run. Payton Johnson secured a bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning to drive in the game-winning run. … Kelly O’Gorman went 5-for-5 at the plate for the softball team with a double and a home run, Nicole McCarvill was 4-for-5 with a home run and Kelly Barkevich had two home runs.

The highlights: Mitchell Halpern led the boys’ track and field team with a second-place finish in the 2,000-meter steeplechase. … Earning wins for the girls’ track and field team at the Fleet Feet event were Alexandra Tudor (100-meter dash), Kelly Hamlin (200-meter dash), Emily Crounse (600-meter run), Hannah Reale (1,000-meter run), the 4×200-meter relay team (Melissa Haas, Hamlin, Olivia Robbins, Tudor) and the distance medley relay (Crounse, Caroline Hartman, Danielle Jordan, Elise Maddalone). Also, at the New York Relays, thrower Jill Shippee recorded a meet-record mark of 176-2 to win the hammer throw. Shippee also came in fourth place in the discus throw. … Adam Barcori scored eight goals for the boys’ lacrosse team in a blowout win, while Pierce Holohan contirbuted five goals and three assists. … Jordyn Marr and Lauren Gray each had three scores for the girls’ lacrosse team, while McKenzie Ballard had two goals and three assists. … In its Forever Remembered tournament, the softball team picked up a pair of wins. Between the two games, Kelly Barkevich hit two home runs, Kelly O’Gorman had seven hits, and both Abby Shields and Emily Albanese scored pitching wins.

The highlights: Abby Shields pitched a two-hitter to record her fifth win of the softball season, while Kelly O’Gorman blasted a home run and Sadie Evans had two RBIs as part of a two-hit day that included a triple. … Andy Bindelglass recorded the victory for the boys’ tennis team. … In a rematch of last year’s championship, the baseball team picked up a win. … Mike Lazzaro and Owen Putman each had three goals for the boys’ lacrosse squad, while Anthony Tebbano made 14 saves in net. … McKenzie Ballard, Lauren Gray and Ava Katinas each had three goals for the girls’ lacrosse squad, while Ballard added two assists. Emily DiNallo had one goal and three assists in the blowout.

The highlights: Jordyn Marr scored five goals for the girls’ lacrosse team, while teammate Lauren Gray added three scores and four helpers. … Recording a victory for the boys’ tennis team was Andy Bindelglass, who won 6-2, 6-1. … Nick Michalowski won the 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash to lead the boys’ track and field team to its victories. Adding a win in the pole vault was Casey Gribben. … Owen Putman scored five goals, Matt Stucchi had two scores and four assists, and Dakota Rainville had three goals for the boys’ lacrosse squad. Anthony Tebbano made 11 saves in net.

Boys’ tennis: Shenendehowa 8, CBA 1

Girls’ track and field: Shenendehowa 103, Bethlehem 76.5 … Shenendehowa 117, Shaker 63

The highlights: In a matchup of teams previously undefeated in the Suburban Council, the baseball squad took a close loss. Richard Drum had both RBIs for Shenendehowa, while Ben Anderson had two hits. Kurt Forsell took the loss after pitching four innings and allowed three runs (two earned). … Taking solo 6-0, 6-0 wins for the boys’ tennis team were Brendan Blackburn, Jacob Kluball and Andy Bindelglass, plus the doubles teams of Jeong Yeon Cho & Jason Stauber and Reece Hoelscher & Jerry QU. … In a pair of wins for the girls’ track and field team, Olivia Robbins recorded solo wins in both the 400-meter dash and the 100-meter hurdles.

Girls’ lacrosse: Shenendehowa 7, Bethlehem 6

The highlights: After trailing 4-2 after a period, the boys’ lacrosse team scored seven unanswered second-period goals to surge to the win. Owen Putman had four goals and two assists in the win, Adam Barcori had three goals, and Matt Stucchi scored twice and had two assists. Anthony Tebbano added 14 saves. … Meg Pendergast scored a last-second goal for the girls’ lacrosse team, which picked up an exciting win against rival Bethlehem.

The highlights: Lucian Williams picked up the win with five innings of work for the baseball team, while Joe Palko led the offense with three hits. Matt Straney was the only Plainsmen batter to record multiple RBIs in the blowout. … Nicole McCarvill and Ashley Sisto each hit home runs for the softball team, which also received a triple from Cailey Cuttita as part of a three-hit day. Olivia Murray added two doubles and a single. … Scoring singles win for the boys’ tennis team were Ritwik Mishra, Jon Frutschy, Jeremy Czirr and Stanley Liu.

The highlights: Sophomore Brandon Roberts tossed six innings and did not allow an earned run in the baseball team’s loss to the defending state champions. … Abby Shields allowed three hits in her shutout, while Kelly O’Gorman (triple, two singles) and Kelly Barkevich (double, two singles) starred at the plate for the softball team. … Anthony Tebbano made 19 saves in the loss for the boys’ lacrosse team, while Matt Stucchi had three goals and three assists.

The highlights: Wining events for the boys’ track and field team were the 110-meter hurdle relay (Nick Michalowski, Dominick Timpanaro, Sooyun Oh, Matt McLaughlin), the shot put relay (Kyle Bruns, Kade Lampman, Dan Cherko) and the discus throw relay (Kyle Bruns, Kade Lampman, Thomas McNamee). … Ben Anderson tossed a complete game to lead the baseball team to its win against Troy, while Nik Malachowski picked up the win vs. Burnt Hills. Ranked No. 1 in the state, the softball team rolled to a pair of wins. … In a sweep for the boys’ tennis team, four singles players recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins. Those athletes were Ritwik Mishra, Jeremy Czirr, Jacob Kluball and Stanley Liu. … Down 4-3 at halftime, the girls’ lacrosse team struggled after intermission. In the loss, Kendra Harbinger had two goals.

The highlights: Picking up a 6-0, 6-1 win for the boys’ tennis team was No. 6 singles player Michael Sunukjian, while the doubles team of Donovan Suguitan & Jared Dessingue recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win. … The baseball team scored in each of the first five innings to top Mohonasen. Nick Jacques had three hits, while Kurt Forsell picked up the win after allowing three runs in four innings. Frank Pizzo went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases. … Olivia Murray and Kelly Barkevich both homered, doubled and singled in the softball team’s win. Also, Emily Albanese pitched a four-hit shutout and Nicole McCarvill had four singles. … Meg Pendergast scored two goals in the girls’ lacrosse team’s loss to Niskayuna. Shenendehowa held the undefeated Silver Warriors to a season-low six goals, with goalie Lexi Keen making 16 saves.Dakota Rainville and Owen Putman each scored four goals for the boys’ lacrosse team, while Anthony Tebbano made 25 saves.

Girls’ track and field: Shenendehowa competes at Penn Relays

The highlights: The team of Emily Crounse, Danielle Jordan, Julia Zachgo and Hannah Reale combined to win its heat of the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 9:11.03 to advance to Friday’s championship. Also, the 4×400-meter relay team of Olivia Robbins, Alexandra Tudor, Rachel Venditti and Kelly Hamlin won its heat with a mark of 3:58.11.

Boys’ lacrosse: Shenendehowa 17, Saratoga Springs 7

Girls’ lacrosse: Saratoga Springs 10, Shenendehowa 9

The highlights: Hannah Reale dove across the finish line to cap a personal-best run and finish off the girls’ track and field team’s Championship of America 3,200-meter relay victory at the Penn Relays at Franklin Field. Reale finished her anchor leg in 2:10.17, and Shenendehowa clocked a 9:00.79 for an all-time Section II best and the No. 1 time in the United States this season. Emily Crounse (2:18.36), Danielle Jordan (2:15.72) and Julia Zachgo (2:16.54) set the stage for Reale’s closing effort. Mamaroneck placed second in 9:01.69. … Playing his first singles match of the season, Donovan Suguitan recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win in t… In the baseball team’s win, Joe Palko delivered the game-winning RBI with a fifth-inning single that scored Kevin Huerter. Ben Anderson picked up the win for Shenendehowa with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings, while twin brother Ian Anderson recorded the save with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning. … The softball team suffered its first defeat after falling behind 4-0 early in the contest. … Mike Lazarro, Owen Putman and Dakota Rainville each had three goals for the boys’ lacrosse team. … In defeat, Kendra Harbinger had three goals and an assist for the girls’ lacrosse squad.

The highlights: The softball team scored a pair of wins out in Section III. In a 3-0 win against Liverpool, Abby Shields pitched a two-hitter and Kelly Barkevich slugged a home run. Later, in a 8-7 win against Fairport, Taylor Rainsberg had two singles and a double. … For the girls’ track and field team, individual wins came from Kelly Hamlin (200-meter dash), Julia Zachgo (3,000-meter run), Olivia Robbins (100-meter hurdles), Jill Shippee (shot put and discus throw). … For the boys’ track and field team, individual wins came from Tyler Schmidt (400-meter dash) and Nick Michalowski (110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles).

The highlights: For the boys’ lacrosse team, Owen Putman scored two goals and Anthony Tebbano made 13 saves. … In a pair of defeats for the boys’ track and field team, solo wins came from Nick Michalowski (110-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash), Mitchell Halpern (800-meter run) and Kade Lampman (discus throw). … In a wild one, the softball team lost despite hitting five home runs and receiving a three-RBI triple from Cailey Cuttita. Nik Malachowski went all seven innings for the Plainsmen, while Joe Fraser delivered an RBI triple as part of a two-RBI effort.
