Kevin Parker earns Upstate NY wrestling award

CLIFTON PARK — Kevin Parker, a 2016 Shenendehowa High School graduate, has been selected as the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s “Outstanding Wrestler” for the 2015-16 season.

Parker, who will wrestle next season for Princeton University, won a Division I state championship this past winter at 182 pounds to close his high school career. Overall, Parker collected three Section II titles, two state championships and 215 career wins during his high school career with Shenendehowa under head coach Rob Weeks.

Outside of high school wrestling, Parker’s honors include being a three-time Junior Fargo All-American and a two-time FloNationals All-American. Recently, he was an 182-pound finalist at the ASICS/Vaughan Cadet and Junior National Championships in North Dakota.

The 2016 Upstate New York Hall of Fame Celebration will be conducted Sept. 18 at the Double Tree Hotel in East Syracuse.
