CLIFTON PARK —Two seats on the Shenendehowa Board of Education will be up for election in May.
The election will be held on May 16. The seats up for grabs are Mary Blaauboer’s, who will finish her third term on the board on June 30, 2017, and Bill Casey’s, who will be finishing his fourth, nonconsecutive term also on June 30.
“This is my ninth year of Board service and I have truly enjoyed it. I have the nominating packet and am continuing to work for excellent educational experiences for students at Shen,” Blaauboer said.
Casey is planning on running for reelection, and has already worked on collecting signatures. He said that despite the long hours members have to commit to the school board, it’s ultimately worth time.
“It’s extremely rewarding, doing this,” he said.
