CLIFTON PARK — Long-time Shenendehowa Central School District Board of Education member Mary Blaauboer announced last night that she will not be seeking reelection to the board .
Blaauboer, a Clifton Park resident, has in the past served as the board president. Currently in her third term on the board, she is the former director of personnel at the College of Saint Rose. She has a bachelor’s degree in public administration with a minor in human resources management from Stonehill College.
“It has been nearly nine years since I first began serving on the Shenendehowa Board of Education with the singular goal to “do what’s right for kids”. It has been a rewarding experience and I am as confident as I can be that I have made a positive contribution to the work of the Board and the District as a whole,” Blaauboer said. “This is a decision I have made with my family over a period of several months. Please know that I will continue to do my best for Shen as my service on the Board comes to a close.”
Two seats on the board, including Blaauboer’s, will be up for grabs in May for terms that end in June. Current board member Bill Casey plans to run for reelection. Casey is currently serving in his fourth, non-consecutive term on the board.
