From the next season of IPL, every player will get a match fee of Rs 7.5 lakh for every match. This amount will be in addition to the contract amount. That is, every player playing all 14 matches of IPL in a season will be able to earn Rs 1.05 crore in addition to the contract amount. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said on Saturday that the players will have to pay this match fee to the franchise teams from their own pocket. For this, every franchise team will release Rs 12.60 crore separately.
This decision of BCCI will especially benefit those players who are bought at a low price in the auction. It should be noted that now the match fees received in IPL will be more than the players playing ODIs for India. BCCI gives Rs 6 lakh for every ODI to all the annually contracted players.
