CLIFTON PARK — Shenendehowa Central School district requested bid proposals for the 34.3 acres of undeveloped land behind Shatekon Elementary School back in May but received just one bid by its Jan. 4 deadline — from local real estate developer DCG Development Company.

DCG Development bid on the 34.3 acres behind Shatekon Elementary School, which has been owned by Shenendehowa Central School District since 1970.

According to a Shenendehowa news bulletin, the property, located between Moe Road and Maxwell Drive, can be used for “a variety of commercial and retail uses.”

Shenendehowa Public Information Officer Kelly DeFeciani noted the school district would consider bids only of at least $1.5 million, although she declined to say how much DCG bid.

The board will meet for an executive session Jan. 12 to discuss the proposal and how to move forward.

Clifton Park-based DCG Development has made major investments in the town, including the Clifton Park Center Mall and Homewood Suites.
DCG Development president Donald Greene could not be reached for comment for this story.
