CLIFTON PARK – The  Rexford Bridge project is moving forward.

“Despite a very rainy spring, work at the Rexford Bridge is progressing nicely. Installation of a new culvert at Riverview Road near Stewart’s is almost done. Over the weekend the crew will pave the area and the road is expected to reopen to two-way traffic early next week – by Tuesday if the weather cooperates,” said the New York State Department of Transportation in a statement in Friday afternoon.

All the bridge steel is erected, workers are finishing up the installation of rebar and pouring of the concrete deck will start mid-week. There will be three concrete pours over two weeks.

The statement reminded drivers that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
