Hyundai has officially relaunched the Santro model in India for 2025 as an affordable, tech-rich hatchback designed for first-time car buyers and city commuters. The new Santro starts at about ₹3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with a monthly EMI option of roughly ₹6,500, targeting those seeking low running costs without compromising on style or essential features.
On the outside, the 2025 Santro retains its compact “tall-boy” stance but gets a refreshed exterior featuring SUV-inspired design cues. It includes a more aggressive front grille, LED daytime running lights, modern alloy wheels on higher trims, and stylish dual-tone paint options. These updates make it look bolder and more premium than previous versions.
Under the hood, the base powertrain is a 1.1-litre petrol engine producing around 69 PS and 99 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT for automatic convenience. For buyers looking for more fuel economy, there’s also a factory CNG variant. Fuel efficiency estimates are strong — the petrol version is expected to manage around 20-22 km/l, with the CNG variant offering significantly higher mileage figures.
Inside, the Santro packs(segment-smart) tech features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power windows, and safety essentials like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. Higher variants may include better interior finishes and comfort features like rear AC vents.
Hyundai says the 2025 Santro meets stricter safety norms with improved build quality and safety features across variants. With its aggressive pricing, refined styling, and feature upgrades, the Santro is positioned to compete strongly in India’s entry-level hatchback space, offering both value and practicality.
