Tom Cruise’s highly anticipated film ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning’ is set to release across India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 12. During the shooting of the film, Tom performed a daring bike stunt on a mountain in the village of Hellesilt, Norway on September 6, 2020. Riding a custom Honda CRF 250 up a specially built ramp on a steep rock about 1,200 meters above sea level, Tom descended into an abyss 4,000 feet before opening his parachute barely 500 feet above the ground. Director Christopher McQuarrie was left breathless during the scene, but breathed a sigh of relief when Tom appeared unharmed. Remarkably, Tom rehearsed the stunt seven times to ensure it was shot perfectly.
Despite the dangerous nature of the stunt, every element of production went through rigorous training and strict security protocols to ensure Tom’s safety. In the film, there is a dialogue that says ‘Don’t be safe, be capable.’ Tom says, ‘Every time I rode the bike on the ramp, it was a threat to my life, but we wanted to make it perfect.’
Overall, the film promises to be an exciting adventure for audiences across India, with its release in multiple languages.
