FIFA suspends Spanish president Luis Rubiales

FIFA, the international governing body for football, has taken the decision to temporarily suspend Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation. This action comes after an incident involving Rubiales and Jennifer Hermoso, a forward player for the Spanish women’s national team, following their victory over England in the Women’s World Cup final in Sydney.
According to reports, Rubiales kissed Hermoso after the match, which led to the Spanish Federation finding Hermoso at fault. As a result, they threatened to terminate her contract. In response to these allegations, Hermoso called for Rubiales’ resignation, along with the other 79 players involved in the incident. In an unexpected turn of events, Rubiales offered to resign.
However, Rubiales denies the accusations made by Hermoso and claims that she is defaming him by accusing him of promoting fake feminism. FIFA has responded to this situation by announcing that Rubiales will be suspended for a period of 90 days, effective immediately. It is unclear at this point what specific disciplinary actions will be taken against Hermoso and the other players involved.
