The series ‘Scam 1992: The Telgi Story’ will be released on September 2

Renowned director Hansal Mehta, known for his critically acclaimed web series “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story,” is all set to captivate audiences once again with the second part of the scam series. The makers recently released the teaser for the upcoming series titled “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story.” This new series will delve into the infamous Rs 30,000 crore stamp scam that took place in 2003, orchestrated by Abdul Karim Telgi, a mastermind who printed counterfeit stamp papers.

The teaser intriguingly keeps the identity of the actor playing Abdul Karim Telgi under wraps, adding to the suspense surrounding the series. The voice-over in the teaser is provided by the talented actor Manoj Bajpayee, who sets the tone by highlighting the magnitude of the scam and its far-reaching consequences. Abdul Karim Telgi, who initially worked as a vendor and in travel companies, managed to execute this massive scam through the production of fake tickets. The scam had a nationwide impact, spanning across multiple states and leaving the entire nation shocked.

“Scam 2003: The Telgi Story” is scheduled to stream on the OTT platform Sony Liv from September 2nd. For this series, Hansal Mehta has drawn inspiration from journalist Sanjay Singh’s book, “Reporter’s Diary,” which provides valuable insights into the events surrounding the scam. The series is co-directed by Tushar Hiranandani, who has previously directed the acclaimed film “Saand Ki Aankh.”
