Punjab: Case against 13 people who attacked due to election rivalry

On the day of Panchayat elections, one party attacked the other due to old enmity. Due to this, a young man’s legs and arms were broken. Along with air firing, a Swift car was vandalized. Police have registered a case against 13 people. While the young man is undergoing treatment at DMC Ludhiana. SHO Inspector Iqbal Hussain of Police Station City South told that Akash Kumar, a resident near Shahidi Park, said in his statement to the police that on October 15 at 3 pm, he was sitting and talking with his friends Vishu, Sunil Baba, Nikhil, Hempreet, Mani and some unknown youths at his in-laws’ house. I also went there on Sunil Baba’s call. Because Panchayat elections were being held that day. During the conversation, Sunil Baba said that he goes for a round in the nearby villages in cars. As soon as we came out of the house and started sitting in the cars, 10-15 youths surrounded us and attacked them, in which both the arms and legs of Nikhil were broken. After giving information about the matter to the police, a case has been registered against Avinash, Prince, Karan, Veeru, Sukhwinder, Lovepreet Singh and seven unknown attackers.
